The architectural concept is based on respecting the site’s topography and preserving the visual identity of the landscape, creating a destination that offers guests an exclusive stay experience in direct connection with nature.
Architecture Shaped by the Landscape
The spatial organisation of the resort carefully follows the natural terrain, with building volumes arranged in cascading formations along the coastline and hillside. Dynamic forms and horizontal architectural lines emphasise the connection with the surrounding landscape while enabling open sea views from the majority of accommodation units. The project is characterised by a contemporary architectural expression focused on spatial fluidity, clean geometric forms and a balanced relationship between the built environment and nature. Through the use of natural materials and carefully designed green areas, harmony is achieved between the architecture and the Mediterranean setting.
Exclusive Hospitality Amenities and Guest Experience
The resort is planned as a luxury hospitality destination combining hotel facilities, private accommodation units and spaces dedicated to recreation and relaxation. Particular emphasis was placed on guest privacy, the quality of views and the creation of an atmosphere that encourages tranquillity and exclusivity. Large terraces, open outdoor areas and direct connections to the coastline allow guests to fully experience the surrounding natural environment. The architecture was designed to maximise natural light and panoramic views while maintaining a discreet and respectful presence within the landscape.
A Sustainable Approach to Contemporary Resort Design
The project promotes a sustainable and responsible approach to hospitality architecture through careful positioning of the buildings, minimising environmental impact and integrating green spaces throughout the complex. The urban planning concept enables a functional organisation of the resort while preserving the natural characteristics of the location. Smrka Bay Resort was envisioned as a destination that combines contemporary luxury, architectural quality and the authenticity of the Mediterranean environment, creating a distinctive identity within the natural landscape of the island of Brač.
