Two Sisters – Samoborska cesta

Two Sisters Residence is conceived as a contemporary residential-commercial complex located in the western part of Zagreb, in the calm yet well-connected urban neighborhood of Podsused. The project consists of two volumetrically aligned buildings – one residential and one mixed-use – together forming a cohesive and balanced spatial composition.

Architectural expression and materiality

The architecture is based on a dialogue between tradition and contemporary expression. Inspiration drawn from the area’s industrial heritage is reflected in the use of brick as the dominant façade material, while white volumes and clean lines introduce modern clarity and elegance. This material contrast creates a strong yet understated architectural identity.

Quality of living and spatial organization

The apartments are designed with an emphasis on functional layouts, optimal natural light, and spatial fluidity. Large glazed surfaces, loggias, and balconies provide a strong connection between interior and exterior spaces, while rooftop terraces further enhance the quality of living. Ground-floor zones are activated by commercial functions, naturally linking the complex to its surroundings. Landscape design, greenery, and pedestrian connections further shape a pleasant residential environment in close proximity to nature and the Sava River. Two Sisters Residence represents a contemporary response to the needs of urban living – architecturally refined, highly functional, and of lasting value.
