Savudrija Cliffs – Golf Club & Hotel

Savudrija Cliffs – Golf Club & Hotel is conceived as a comprehensive resort integrated into the coastal landscape of northwestern Istria, where architecture and nature merge into a continuous spatial experience. By situating the hotel directly on the seafront and shaping the golf course as a landscaped park, the project creates a balanced relationship between luxury, recreation, and the natural environment.

Hotel architectural concept

The golf hotel is positioned on a natural slope, with its volume partially embedded into the terrain to reduce visual impact on the landscape. A green roof further emphasizes the building’s sustainable concept and connects it with the surroundings.

Spatial organization and functional layout

Access to the hotel is organized from the south, while towards the sea a series of guest amenities unfold: an outdoor pool, restaurant terrace, sun deck, and coastal promenade. The interior is distributed over two levels – the upper level housing the entrance, reception, and guest rooms, and the lower level accommodating the wellness area, restaurant, service facilities, and additional suites.

Integration with the landscape

Large glazed surfaces provide open views toward the sea and the golf course. The golf course is designed according to the highest development standards and includes 18 holes, three lakes, a golf academy, and a short course. It is shaped as a landscaped structure that preserves the existing pine forest outside the playing areas, maintaining the natural character of the site.

Sustainability and Infrastructure

Special attention is given to sustainability through a designed irrigation system with a desalination station, ensuring independence from the public water supply and long-term maintenance of green areas. Savudrija Cliffs represents a contemporary resort that combines architecture, sport, and nature into a unified spatial concept, offering a luxurious experience through space, views, and an authentic Mediterranean atmosphere.
